This alert tone sounds after the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button is pressed and the radio is able to transmit on the channel. This is to prompt the user to begin speaking.
It's the sound that a transmitter hears before he speaks.
Talk permit tone(Analog): This alert tone is enabled only for analog channels.
Talk permit tone(Digital): This alert tone is enabled only for digital channels.
When both checked, it means this alert tone is enabled for both analog and digital channels. When both unchecked, it means this alert tone is disabled for both analog and digital channels.
We have talked about roger beep in last article, If you are interested, please click the link: Roger beep on HD1.
Roger beep is a sound the receiver can hear after the transmitter release the PTT. The Talk permit tone is a sound that a transmitter hears before he speaks. One is heard by other side, one is heard by oneself.
