What is the Radio DFU Mode

We know that most of the DMR radio support firmware upgrade. Before we start to upgrade, we always told make sure your radio is in DFU mode. What is the DFU mode? How to enter into DFU mode? I hope this article will help you learn more about it.

What is the DFU mode?

DFU full name is Development firmware upgrade mode. It is a mode you must get into before you start to upgrade the firmware. If not, It will cause you to fail in the upgrading. or cause serial radio issues. But please don't worry. If you are not careful not to upgrade in upgrade mode. Have a try to re-upgrade as the right steps in the DFU mode again.

How to enter into DFU mode?

Different radios have different methods to enter into the DFU mode. We take several radios as examples.

Ailunce HD1: Press PTT and the first side key, turn on HD1 at the same time to enter into the DFU mode.

Retevis RT82: Press PTT button and alarm button (on the top of radio) together, turn on RT82 at the same time to enter into the DFU mode.
