How to Program Retevis RA685 to Works on an Analog Repeater

As we all known, radio amateurs often connect to a repeter to extend the communication range. Today, we are going to take Retevis RA685 as an example to learn how to connect to an analog repeater.

RA685 has 18 keys, it can program to connect a repeater manually. Firstly, you should know the repeater frequency you want to talk to. 

Our local repeater downlink frequency is 439.8000Mhz. uplink frequency is 430.8000Mhz, and the CTCSS tone is 118.8Hz. 

So we need to set the RA685 receive frequency to 439.8000Mhz. Direction choose Minus. Offset is 9Mhz. Here need to swicth to VFO mode. 

The setting is over, If you are sure that you are in the signal area of the repeater station, then press and hold the PTT transmit button, and there should be a echo. If not, it is probably because your settings have error, or you are not in the signal area.
