Usage of Shortwave Radio Station Ailunce HS1

What is a shortwave radio station?

Short-wave radio is a radio communication equipment with working wavelength of 100 ~ 10 meters (frequency of 3 ~ 30 MHZ). (high-end radio station, can receive in 100hz-1000mhz frequency range.)

Mainly used for transmitting voice, equal amplitude and frequency shifting.

Amplitude modulation and SSB modulation are used to transmit telephone signals. It consists of a transmitter, a receiver, an antenna, a power supply, and a terminal device.

Generally divided into portable, vehicular and fixed radio. With small size, light weight and other characteristics, usually using whiplike antenna, using ground wave for short-range communication, the power is usually several watts to dozens of watts.

Short wave communication distance

Shortwave radio stations rely on ionospheric reflections in the atmosphere and can transmit waves over long distances.

In the best case, you can connect to the worldwide.

In general, it can transmit hundreds of kilometers. So many remote contacts only rely on shortwave radios for communication., such as navigation, aviation communications.

The majority of radio hobbies and hams also use shortwave communication as their goal.

What is the difference between shortwave radio and FM radio?

A shortwave radio station is a unit and device that produces and transmits radio programs for listening to radio programs.

Radio is a device that receives broadcast program signals,The radio is equivalent to the receiver of the radio station, but it cannot transmit. The FM radio belongs to a wide range of radio stations, including cell phones, cordless phones, wireless microphones, etc., all of which are in the radio category.

The FM radio receives a wideband (double-sided band) carrier-frequency audio signal. But the short-wave radio station receives a single-sideband carrierless audio signal. It can be seen that even at the same frequency, the FM radio cannot receive the short-wave radio signal.

Where the shortwave radio can be use?

* Military

* Navigation

* Aviation

* Broadcast

Amateur radios can not transmit at professional frequencies, such as radio, civil aviation, ships, police, railways, etc.

The radio station uses FM receiving mode to receive ordinary FM radio, TV sound, wireless microphone and so on.

The radio station uses the AM receiving method to receive medium-wave and short-wave radio broadcasts in the AM band. That is to say, the radio station can also be used as a FM radio.

Moreover, the transceiving frequency band of the amateur wireless short-wave radio station is substantially coincident with the short-wave frequency band of the broadcasting station, that is say, within one frequency band.

The FM radio receives a wideband (double-sided) carrier-frequency audio signal, while the short-wave radio receives a single-sideband, carrier-free audio signal. Even at the same frequency, FM radios cannot receive short-wave radio signals.
