RX Ham Groups on Retevis RT73 Mobile Radio

RX Ham Groups on Retevis RT73 Mobile Radio

Get a question said that his RT73 with the last firmware the radio always or sometimes, its permanent in Promiscuous mode, right now indeed I have two groups TG 730 in Band A, and 7302062 in Band B, no matter some its calling in 730911 and the radio is listening these TG.

Basicaly when receiving on RT73, it should be select GCL(RXgroup) for any channel, no matter if there have groups in this RX Group. otherwise, it wont receive any signals. Here the customer question is the radio not only receive his Rx groups' signals, but also receive the signals from the Talkgroup outside of the Rx group list.

Why happen this? and How to solve this?

On the Retevis RT73 radio, it has a on/off button for HamGroups. it default turn on the HamGroup. as I said Basicaly when receiving on RT73, it should be select GCL(RXgroup) for any channel, no matter if there have groups in this RX Group. otherwise, it wont receive any signals. So if the HamGroup is ON. It will receive any signasl from the HamGroup list. At the same time, if you turn on the promiscuous mode. it will receive all the signals from the HamGroups.

After know this operation, our customer give us a very good feedback:

It has a really cool function with the RX Ham groups, that is, you may have a selective promiscuous function. If you create a List of TG which you permanently want to receive, you included it in your Ham groups.
No matter which TG you have selected in your programmed channel, if you turn on the ham groups list, these groups will be received.
Very cool feature, quiet better than stay always receiving in promiscuous mode, that now it's a more powerful feature.
