can not programming hd1

I’m having a problem with programming my radio with the digital software. I choose the correct com port, press read data and then it gives me an error saying to check connection. Idk if it’s the programming cables fault or the radio having a faulty port. I have reason to believe it’s something else though that’s causing it. Whenever I press read it even shows on the radio “Pc read data” yet still no gain in percentage. If anyone has any idea of how to fix the issue please let me know. Thanks.
